Momma update, Harper!
Momma is pissy, because the hole in her jaw is now the size of her jaw. Seriously, my vet was having trouble finding enough skin to sew together. Her jaw looks good inside, what is left, at least. I saw her bones, and we even saw her jugular tonight, bouncing away in there. Scary to be so close to it, but there was dead tissue sitting above it... Her color was bad though the surgery, so O2 was needed, and we are going to give her a few weeks now, to let the remaining tissue decide if it's going to grow or die.
I just paid $160 for enough Revolution to treat my whole house 3 times for these damn red mites, that no one has any idea where Marilyn got them, and we don't even know that the Revolution will work. That sucks. :? These mites just showed up on Marilyn, who has enough to deal with already. they bite and they suck blood and are just generally evil. Everything we read says that Revolution may not kill them, but what will kill them is too toxic for bunnies to use on them... Hmmm. Yuck.
The great news is Sue is going to take Harper. YEAH!!! But I am going to keep Harper for 2 weeks more to give her 2 full doses of Revolution. Although Momma and Marilyn are the only two I have seen mites on, I am assuming they are on everyone, and I would hate to spread them to Sue's house. That officially puts me back in the single digits. Thanks heavens. I can move the two out of the kitchen and get them into the bunny room!!! Then they are all in there except for Sprite and Victor, who have been contained to a pen in my bedroom. Sprite took to peeing on the bed, and they lost the "free bunny" privilages in the bedroom. Which leads me to the following thought.....
Sprite is the devil. She was out playing tonight, and started cage fighting with Pogo. Before I could set the computer down and go over there, she had LEAP OVER THE PEN, and was IN POGO'S CAGE!!!! I could kill her. In fact, I bit her. Hard. Of course, I got two bites on my arm right back. Poor Victor. I may never let Sprite out of the cage again. The good news is Sprite is grooming Victor, finally. In fact, he's getting more grooming than giving these days. It's so great to see him happy!!! I love it.
Ug. too much work, too little playing.
